If your group, club, society, or organization would be interested in a presentation that explains all about how and why I dig privies, including a large display of the bottles and historical artifacts that I have found, I would be happy to make arrangements to do so. Past presentations and displays

Thank you to Jane Harper of the Crosby Township Historical society, (also my 1st grade teacher), for inviting me to do my first presentation. She knew I was nervous and reluctant to commit, and her confidence in me and encouragement allowed me to change out of my scaredy-pants and stand up in front of the crowd and let-er fly. I knew most of everyone and they were very interested and entertained.

Thank you to Jill Evans of the Morgan Township Historical Society for inviting me to do my 2nd presentation. It went smoothly and I did better than fine, just as she promised. There was a nice crowd and I used a microphone. Yikes !!!
What a chicken I am.

October 7th, 2002.
My presentation for the Butler County Ohio Historical Society went great ! The turnout was good and the members showed genuine interest. This time the question segment lasted for over an hour, and many permissions were obtained, including permission to dig the privy of the very house my presentation was given in, the Benninghofen House, which serves as the Butler County Museum, built in 1861.

(note; We could only locate a single shallow subsurface abnormality, and we decided to leave it intact)

Check out the Butler County Historical Society Homepage.

I would like to thank the Butler County Historical Society for inviting me and my buds to share our hobby with you.
It was our great pleasure !!!

Pioneer Antique & Hobby Association Presentation

On Wednesday April 16th 2003, Rod and I gave a presentation to the Pioneer Antique and Hobby Association. It was a packed house that welcomed us warmly and showed great interest in our hobby. I would like to thank Jane Harper for inviting us. This is a great group of folks whose interest is shared openly and passionately. If you live within the western Cincinnati area, you owe it to yourself to go and check out one of their meetings. Guests are very welcome and the refreshments are home baked goodies.

The meetings are held at the Green Township Lodge at 6394 Wesselman rd.

The Franklin County Indiana Historical Society.

Rod and I thoroughly enjoyed this presentation. What a great bunch of folks. This presentation included a hearty buffet of fried chicken, pork tenderloin, taters, and green beans, from the "Mounds" restaurant in Brookville Indiana. (Can we come back again next month ?) Thanks to all the members and to Doc. Rusterholz for the invite. Check out their website at http://www.franklinchs.com/

Harrison Village Historical Society

On Tuesday March 2nd 2004, Mike and Rod joined me in presenting for the Harrison Village Historical Society. It was a special honor to present for my hometown neighbors. We were proud to display our collection of Harrison bottles, and we were kindly received by the members. We saw many old friends and made some new ones. Thank you for inviting us and for your enthusiastic interest.

Society of Northwestern Longhunters

This is a group who's collective heads are stuck in the past just like mine. They gather to celebrate and visit with history in great detail. A fine bunch of regular folks who adore the past and the lifestyle of the pioneers and settlers. They were a very interested audience and when it came to early America, they really knew their stuff. Thanks to Lannie Argo for the invitation.

If any other diggers have thought about making a presentation, I would be happy to help in any way. This is not only a great way to shine a positive light on our hobby, but also a great way to make contacts and secure future digging permissions. Its a win win situation for everybody !!! I will gladly supply a copy of the tested and approved material I use for a baseline to create your own material. E-mail me and get your privy diggin' ball a-rollin'. Eddie@Privydigger.com
