What is an E-book ?

You may have noticed that I offer my books in a "downloadable e-book" format. E-books are a relatively new concept so I thought I'd answer some frequently asked questions about them here:

1. What is an e-book?
An e-book is an electronic file of a book. It is sent to you as a safe, Adobe pdf attachment to an e-mail with instructions for downloading onto your computer. It's easy!

2. What do I do with the attachment?
Open it like any other file you have received attached to an e-mail. You may then choose to read it on your computer screen or print it out on your own printer. Many customers print, hole-punch and bind  E-books within regular, store-bought binders.
 

3. What are the advantages of purchasing an e-book?
Cost, time and functionality. I can sell e-books for less than printed copies because it saves printing costs and avoids damage caused by mailing. It also spares you shipping charges involved with bound and printed versions (especially important for overseas customers!). Plus, you receive your book immediately and avoid packaging and shipping time.

With an e-book, you can search for specific wording within the text, resize the text, or change the text orientation on the screen and still enjoy the functionality of traditional print books, such as highlighting text, making annotations, or bookmarking pages.
 

4. What is the disadvantage of purchasing an e-book?
If you're one of those who like to cuddle up with a good book, enjoying the cracking of a new spine, an e-book may not be for you. However, books made available in electronic format are typically of an informative nature, not late night page-turners. People seeking immediate information are pleased to enjoy the savings of time and money by purchasing e-books.
 

5. What if I want more than one copy of a title?
The purchasing of e-books relies on an honor system. I trust that you'll purchase additional copies honestly. I thank you for your support of my copyrights.
